IMAM DEVELOPMENTPROGRAM

FROM THE
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

All praise is due to Allah! It gives us great pleasure at the Imam Development Program to present to you our 2022 Impact Report. 2022 was a milestone year for us! We welcomed over 170 new Imams and expanded to five new countries, SubhanAllah. This is solely due to the tawfiq of Allah, the dedication of our small team and continued support of visionary donors. We hope that Allah accepts and that the Imams are motivated to do more in their communities. With your help, we can touch more lives, empower more Imams and continue our mission.

MISSION

THE AIM OF THE PROGRAM IS TO BUILD A COMMUNITY OF DYNAMIC AND INSPIRATIONAL
IMAMS, BY DELIVERING AN EXCEPTIONAL SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM.

In 2022, the Imam Development Program celebrated 9 years since we started the program with just 4 Imams in Kwa-Zulu Natal. In these 9 years, thanks to Allah and  incredible donors, we’ve spent R31,379,992/ $1,722,956 on Imam development, touching the lives of 2,800,000 million people every year.

Economic Empowerment

$26,172

The Economic Empowerment Initiative was launched in April 2022 with the goal of bringing Imam's viable, sustainable, and profitable business vision to life and supporting his journey toward becoming financially independent. To date, R477,000.00/ $26,172 has benefited 12 Imams in businesses, ranging from grocery stores to chicken hatcheries and brickmaking.

Expansion to new countries

423 IMAMS

In 2022, we welcomed Imams and Muallimahs from 5 new countries onto the Program, making this our largest expansion to date. We welcomed Swaziland, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and Tanzania. Now, Alhamdulillah, we have now empowered 423 Imams across 9 countries!

Hardship Relief

$27,398

The Hardship Relief Fund was established in April 2022 for the Imam, his family, and his community. The fund was established as a financial safety net to help Imams with any unforeseen expenses that may arise, such as medical bills, medication, accidents, car and home repairs, and, in more recent times, natural disasters. In 2022, have spent R498,982/ $27,398 for hardship relief.

Project Qurbani

24,000

As an organization whose primary focus is the upliftment and empowerment of Imams, we take great pride in being able to deliver a unique Qurbani experience aimed at strengthening the position of the Imam. In 2022, our Imams and Muallimahs distributed over 24,000 meat parcels. The greatest number to date.

Legacy Roots: A Tree Initiative

1570 TREES

We took a path to inspire and support Imams, their students and communities to plant, nurture, and protect trees as well as avoid factors that may lead to deforestation. Our journey began in April 2022 and to date we have planted 1570 trees with 65 Imams across Southern Africa at Imams Masjids and surrounding communities.
