Imagine classrooms filled with eager students but no desks, books, or chalkboards. This is the reality for many Madrassahs across Africa: South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Namibia, and Botswana.
You can help us change that.
We Aim to Equip Madrassah Classrooms Across 13 African Countries.
All Madrassah classes are taught by Imams and Mu’allimahs on the Imam Development Program.
For $325, you can completely transform a classroom. This isn’t just a temporary fix—it’s an investment in the future of these children and their communities. These communities may be impoverished, but that should not hinder their children from receiving the tools they need for quality Islamic education. Poverty should never be a barrier to knowledge, and with your help, we can break down these barriers and equip these Madrassahs with the essential resources they desperately need.
"It will mean less absenteeism, fewer Madrassah dropouts, and an increase in students coming to Madrassah in general."
(Imam Bashyr Lumamba Pasi, Zambia)
"If we are given these materials, they can help make the place where the children study attractive to them, and they will be more inclined to come every day."
(Imam Ajibullah Abdulmajeed, Malawi)
"It will bring more change in our community and encouragement for the parents who were thinking that our Madrassah couldn't go far anymore."
(Imam Hanaffie Ajalie Kalino, Malawi)
"It will mean to my students that Islamic studies are as important as the rest of the studies, even more."
(Imam Yiga Yusufu, Uganda)
